Friday 28/01/2005

Last friday I went to Wild Wild Wet with eb, ay and yk. Initally, I was quite reluctant to go. I thought it's silly to pay $12 to swim where I could have gone to any public swimming pool for $1? And what's so exciting about slides and big slides?

Without proper attire, because I couldn't find my swimming costume an hour before meeting the rest, I entered Wild Wild Wet with the funky card in shorts and tee.

The yellow slide was fun. Reminds me of 5566 variety show I enjoyed watching. Haha. I remember I kept laughing throughout the ride and then the camera flashed. Our photo was captured by the girl in the photo station. But we didn't check it out. Wasted.

After that we went to the drainage alike pool with currents. You don't have to swim to move forward, the currents will sweep you away. I couldn't move at all when walking against the currents.

The tsunami pool is lame. It's just a big pool with waves like those of East Coast. So is the jacuzzi pool. Haa.

Anyway. The giant slide down is fun! We sat in a 8 shaped float with legs crossed each other.. and.. down we go!

Wow. I think I screamed all the way down and up and down. But it was thrilling! I wanted to try the second time one but eb don't want. Too bad.

I've also tried the cycling coaster thing, that was quite scary. Because there wasn't enough safety assurance. Purple and smaller yellow slides was alright... More for kids. But I dislike the fake 'raindrops'.

Overall, $12 was worth it, with the good company and good weather. :)
(Though I've inherited quite a few bruises, but still worth it.)

Goodnight.

Starry nights

If you've noticed for the past nights, it has been very starry. No rain, no clouds, clear sky. Look from a dim area, maybe from your kitchen window or on your way home from bus stop.

From experience, bus stops are poorly lighted. I saw quite a few stars yesterday while waiting for bus 33 to come. I saw Orion. That is the only 'thing' I can tell. Haha. What is Orion? A consellation? I'm not sure.

I don't even know how many planets are there in the solar system. The girl I met in the park said there're 9. Really? I only know there's a Mercury, Mars, Jupitar, Earth, Pluto or Pluton (?), Saturn... Oh talking about Saturn, I saw it through the telescope of an one-hour friend in Toa Payoh park.

I could see the ring around Saturn. It is faint yellow. And there's a white dot near it. Maybe it's the moon of Saturn.

Then I saw the Moon's rough surface. I've seen this before, through my bf's binoculars and on books. Looks the same. Lots of craters near the edge of the Moon.

I saw clusters of stars. Nice.

They are so into astrology. I only know how to count stars.

I prefer looking into the sky, seeing many many stars. Countless. The only time I had this view was 2 years ago, at East Coast with my bf. We are lucky, happened to be a clear and starry night. Our tent had the best view. :)

Another time was when I was on my way to Penang in my dad's car. We always travel late at night. The expressway was very long and dark, no streetlights. Looking through the car's window, I could see many many stars. I wished I could take photos of the sky.

I don't really like looking at stars and planets through telescope. To me, they are just big dots of light, that's all.

S22 Class Outing

Updates about yesterday's happenings:

7.15 am - Woke up and prepare to go out. Met the two at orchard, took cab down to RELC to register for 2005 examinations.

12.00 noon - Still waiting for our turn. 380, 381, 382.

12 noon and onwards - Shop! I bought Fasio products on sale and two pair of daggling earrings at Bugis. :)

6.00 pm - Met ah bao, ber, px, jl, kw, wq, jj, brend, ben, pc, fabian, munch and tom at Suntec Polar Cafe. Did I miss anyone out huh?

Had terriyaki chicken chop (not bad). Then for the surprise, Ah bao suggested we also celebrate JJ's birthday. So we had 20 candles on a 1kg cake for JJ to huff and puff. Hehe.

9.30 pm - I left early with ber and munch. Too tired already. The rest went Sky Garden? Must be drinking beer and eating peanuts again. Haha.

Hope everyone had a good time. I did. Thanks munch for the present again. People, must send out the photos hor, though almost all have pc in photos. Haa.

P/S: I wonder how was the A09 class gathering. Anyone missed me? :P

Laaa...

I've passed my Advance Theory Test. Yay!

Now to concentrate on my practical. Hope to spend as little lessons as possible and pass at the first practical test. Heee.

Today's lesson at CDC was alright. So far the best lesson when driving on public road. Although car engine still stall about 3 times (haha), the lorry driver honked me and many cars overtake me (haha), nevertheless, I'm satisfied with my progress today. :)

Looking forward to tomorrow's S22 class gathering. Actually, I had another class gathering tomorrow, A09 one. But then, S22 gathering is like an annual event, must go yearly!
