Eh

Changed the template. Some things are still not right... I have no idea how to edit. Ah, nevermind. At least I've managed to add my friends' blog.

<--- Look to the Left

If the doors of perception were cleansed everything would appear to man as it is, infinite. Do you agree?

I've came across this quotation quite a long time ago. No idea who thought of that, so if you know, please let me know so I can give credit to that person. Anyway, I thought it's a pretty good quote, and it really makes sense right? If everybody's perception is cleansed, erased, I think the world would be very different today. Well, that's what I think. (Anyone who is reading this and finds me ridiculous, please stop reading from here.)

Perception is defined as:
1. The process, act, or faculty of perceiving.
2. The effect or product of perceiving.
3. Psychology:
- Recognition and interpretation of sensory stimuli based chiefly on memory.
- The neurological processes by which such recognition and interpretation are affected.
- Insight, intuition, or knowledge gained by perceiving.
- The capacity for such insight.

People can be categorized into many types. There are stingy people, generous people, tall people, short, emotional, strong, weak, pretty, intelligent, fat, skinny, ridiculous, just plain stupid, and to make it more confusing, there are clever yet cunning, strong yet weak somehow and the list goes on... Actually, if you seriously think about it, how do you know that the person you think is, say, clever is actually clever? How do you define clever? Is it based on academic studies or IQ or EQ or technical skills?

Everyone apprehend things differently, usually arise from people having different characters. They see things from different point of view. Maybe that's why people like to categorize people into different zodiacs, star signs, birth year and date, colour trees, flowers and whatever not. I think perception is just a psychology thing.

“Recognition and interpretation of sensory stimuli based chiefly on memory.”
Usually, recognition and interpretation through senses involves sight and hearing. Why you must wear an ironed shirt, comb your hair, spray some perfume and sweet talk on your first date? Why you must dress nicely yet neatly, speak smartly yet not boasting for your interview? First impression counts. Who sets the impression? Who is setting the impression? You (lar).

I believe in the above quotation. If the doors of perception were cleansed everything would appear to man as it is, infinite. We are often bind and blinded by the perceptions we set in our mind. Imagine a day when everyone has no perceptions. What you see, what you get. (Like what my economics lecturer always say.) Nothing else. No incidents, images or whatever stuck in your subconscious mind. No prejudice, no bias. No contrast, no separation. Everything to everyone’s eyes is equal. OMG. I hope by nature, humans are good.

But thinking more about it, I wonder if humans will become aimless. There won’t be boundaries if everything is infinite. Maybe it would be too much for us to take it, maybe it wouldn’t be. I have heard or read from somewhere, that doctors and scientists believe that if human can use 100% of the brain, humans can eventually influence surrounding objects within a certain range. It’s really mind power.

But it’s NOT like
Me (concentrating on a glass of coffee): Kopi kopi...
Me (muttering): Hummmmm... Change to pepsi...

Maybe it would be like the Matrix movie. We all can fly. Woo hoo~!

Getting crappy already, time to sleep. Night!

Saturday...

Today,

I woke up at noon. *Ring ring* I jumped up, received a call from ps. I thought I've cleared my throat and tried my best to sound awake but no, ps still asked me 'You sleeping arh?' *Dotz*

Anyway, I'm going Genting!!! In December. Yay! This is the only year I'm looking forward to December. Usually it's exams in October or November, so no time to look too far ahead of time. But this year is different, I have no exams now. Heehee. Hey, come to think of it, it's the first time in years! Ah~ Looking forward to class BBQ, Christmas and Genting trip with friends. :)

You wouldn't believe if I tell you I have a lecture tomorrow. Yes, on a Sunday. Somemore, it's in the afternoon, which means my whole day will be gone. Can't blame the lecturer, afterall she have met with a crisis. Most probably a natural disaster in India. Haa. Kidding. Cannot be mean, girl, else you'll be out of Santa's list! Haha...

Goodnight!

This is Yesterday's Happenings

Yesterday is lots of fun though tiring day.

9.00am - 12.00noon : I had an Info System lecture, together with ps and hj(which from now onwards will call them as 'the two' for easier typing :P) and as usual Tuesday is stoning day. I was half listening and half stoning away... My brain is not made for Mainframe, Database or whatever computer stuff!! Who cares??! All the bloody shortforms are only wasting my brain cells. I've truely REGRETTED taking up this course... ...

12.00noon - 2.00pm : Had Accounting and Finance tution lesson with the two. Life in school has been made happier with the presence of them. ^_* The tuition was alright... I've learnt how to draw up a P&L Statement and B/S. It's like a revision for everyone.

2.00pm - 2.30pm : We had lunch at Megabites. It was the first time I order a kway tiao, didn't know I have to get a number one. Anyway this is how it went...

Order man looked at me with the what-do-you-want-to-eat look.
Me: I want a beef kway tiao.
Order man: You want mee gorang?
Me: No, i want beef kway tiao.
Order man: Uh you want mee gorang?
Me(starting to worry a bit): I want bee..ef (points at the slide board) beef kway tiao..
Order man smiles a bit: Orh.. Beef kway tiao. You speak very softly.
Me: *Phew (and gave him my card to stamp, received a number coin)

I thought I spoke quite normally, can hear what... Anyway I thought I want to wait there for my food since the next number is mine. So i waited with the two and started chatting with then. Then I realised the western food man was looking at me with the same what-you-want look. I waved a no and shaked my head. Back to talking, then again he was looking at me with the look. What the...? I said no again and I thought I better go back to my seat. The people were making me feel like I'm stupid. The kway tiao ended up with ps bringing it to me. What the...? They're suppose to call my number! I'm not going to order kway tiao anymore.

2.30pm - 4.00pm : On a shaky bus for a bumpy ride to ps's house. The bus made hj and my head spin. Headache. The bus driver can't drive! Imagine: Drive.. brake brake.. drive, ah brake!... drive drive... brake again! ARGH.

4.00pm - 8.00pm : Ps is the princess of the day. Hj and I helped her make over. Since I have no experience, hj did the most while i just check. Wow. Ps looked like she can go hip hop dancing.

After that, we clipped her hair, shine the 'spotlight' (which is her table lamp) on her, place the bear and roses in place, changed her dressing, i hold the blanket for background and hj's the photographer! Hahaha... It was very FUN! The outcome is pretty!

8.00pm - 9.00pm : With a growling stomache, I went home. So tired...

Yesterday dinner was yummy. I had curry fish head with ladyfingers, chilli crabs and roasted chicken. YUM. Suppose to have a family steamboat but everyone's lazy to prepare and cook. Haha.

My First Entry!

WOW...

I've finally decided to create a blog since, honestly speaking, it seems to be the 'in' thing now and I'm feeling quite bo liao. Haha... No really, seriously... A blog is a personal diary. A daily pulpit. A collaborative space. A political soapbox. A breaking-news outlet. A collection of links. Your own private thoughts. Memos to the world! You see, having a blog has many many uses, and I think keeping a blog can help in improving my English, which is very important because English is our first language.

Do you believe that? Haha...

Anyway you may ask why this name Xuedao ? Let me tell you a story...

Long long ago in the faraway land... There lived a cute girl named, Shimin. She was 14 years old when she first started using the Internet. Her cute friends taught her how to use the mirc to chat online and soon she was hooked! And she chat and chat, day and night, 24 hours non-stop and... Oh nono, before she was hooked, she loved the nickname: Snowdrop. But to her dismay, someone has already registered that nick! (Arghhh) So... She brainstormed and came out with a unique, special nickname: Snowpour! If you translate it Snowpour = Xuedao. Tataz.

So you know why my blog webby is named xuedao...

Now, do you know why my blog title is named Ribena ? Let me tell you...

I shall spare you another lame story. Haha. It's because the cup in front of me is a Ribena cup.
